Community Foundation „Slagalica“


 

Community Foundation Slagalica with seating in Osijek has been founded in 2007 and has been entered into the Foundation Register number 1, Foundation Register File nr. 112.

The Founders are

Main Purpose and the Mission


Main Purpose and the Mission

The main purpose of Community Foundation Slagalica is improving the quality of life for citizens by promoting multiculturalism, social and economical stability, developing social capital, civic activism and democracy as well as preservation of natural and cultural values in the City of Osijek and Slavonia and Baranya region.

Community Foundation Slagalica is meant for associations and civic initiatives, non-profit institutions in fields of social welfare, health care, culture and education as well as for individuals who act in the interest of common good in the city of Osijek and Slavonia and Baranya region.

The foundation supports projects and activities based on an innovative approach to socio-economic problems, proactive thinking and thrifty approach to natural resources which contribute to the sustainable development of the community.

In order to fulfil its main purpose, Slagalica’s mission is to encourage local philanthropy, develop sustainable funds, provide financial supports and encourage corporate social responsibility.

Areas of Financing and Community Work


 

Fund for financing community based projects

Foundation’s priorities are creating trustful environment within the community, empowering the sense of responsibility for the community and building relationships and contacts amongst people through activities with/towards:

  • Children and youth
  • Marginalised groups (such as disabled, underprivileged, minorities, victims of violence etc.)
  • Environment protection and quality improvement of the environment (ecological projects and projects aiming at preservation of tradition)
  • Prevention of violence

Providing services of administrating grant-giving programmes for other donors
Funds based on the specific donor interests – allowing potential donors to direct their funds to a precisely defined area of work (e.g. environmental issues, child protection...)

Humanitarian Aid Fund – ad hoc and permanent humanitarian actions
